Before the preliminary exercise I thought that the filming will be easy but I was wrong. I learnt about many different camera angles which were the match on action shot, shot reverse shot and 180 degree rule.
for the exercise i worked with a group formed of Niel, Georgina and Zainab. this was a strong group as 3 of the members had previously done media in GCSE and we all attended the same secondary school so we already had a strong bond.
my homework was to find a location to film but unfortunately i did not find a location until the moment we had to film. this showed that i was unorganised and i almost let the team down. i have now learnt that for this subject i must be well organised to succeed.
at the end we found a location and it was the library office. this was good as our scene was set in an office. the footage we captured was good and we got all our shots in but we did break the 180 degree rule once. when we watched our video in class we noticed that the sound quality was poor as wee did not have a mic and a boom. due to this we were forced to film again another day.
when we filmed the second time we filmed in the recording studio. we had a few problems as it was booked at the same time as us but we arranged to use it for an hour before the other group can use it. this was not enough time as we did not finish our filming before the other group arrived. we then consulted one of the deputy headteachers and he agreed to let us use his office for filming. this time we were more organised with the filming and we got all our shots done quickly with good sound quality as we had a mic and boom this time.
the preliminary task was very useful as i learnt that i should be more organised and i learnt new camera shots. i think this was a good way to start the media course.
Well done for making a start Abderahim.
ReplyDeleteYour post is clearly unfinished so it is difficult for me to assess how well you are able to respond to the task. Make sure you complete work on time so I can give you useful feedback.
One thing you can do is use visual examples to help explain your ideas. Presentation format is very important for creating an effective blog.
This is very useful and honest reflection and I am certain you will be better organised next time because of this.
ReplyDeleteYour simple blog post, which only contains continuous prose, and your role in organising the locations is Level 1 work. You must do better.
The fact that you filmed 3 times and made certain you completed this task satisfactorily shows proficient teamwork and time management, which is Level 3 work.
